Physiotherapy students master LymphaTouch with ease

Physiotherapy students at Arcada University of Applied Sciences used LymphaTouch in clinical practice and at an international badminton tournament after a two-hour workshop.

In autumn 2024, physiotherapy students from Arcada University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki had the opportunity to use LymphaTouch in their clinical practice at school and on site at an international badminton tournament. After a two-hour workshop led by a professional, the students quickly learned to use the device independently, even without prior knowledge of the lymphatic system. Their motivation grew as they saw fast, positive results, such as reduced swelling after an acute ankle sprain and muscle relaxation after intense training.

Easy to learn

The students found LymphaTouch very user-friendly, with intuitive controls and a clear interface. Even those with no prior knowledge of the lymphatic system could use it confidently after a short training session. The guided lymphedema programmes gave clear instructions, making it easy to follow the steps and see results. The device itself has no complicated setup or controls, and this simplicity gave the students the confidence to try different treatments.

Portable from clinic to sports venue

Thanks to its compact size and light weight, LymphaTouch was easy to use in many treatment settings. The students carried it between clinical settings and treatment rooms, and even took it to the badminton tournament by public transport without any logistical problems. This flexibility makes it possible to offer LymphaTouch treatments in many places, from clinic rooms to sports venues and even patients' homes.

Swelling and post-training recovery

In clinical practice, the students used LymphaTouch to manage swelling after acute ankle sprains. They saw the swelling go down and the feeling of pressure that often comes with it ease quickly. This showed how the device can support recovery and symptom relief in acute injuries. After intense physical training, the device relaxed tight muscles effectively and helped the athletes recover from hard sessions.

Patient feedback

Patient feedback highlighted how comfortable and effective the treatment was. Patients consistently described a pleasant sensation and noted that the gentle negative pressure relieved pain without discomfort, even with acute pain and swelling. Even sensitive pain patients felt relaxed. Using the device in different cases showed how widely it can be applied.

The patients' satisfaction was encouraging for the students. They also noted that LymphaTouch benefits the therapist as well as the patient: it offers an ergonomic, device-assisted technique without compromising the patient experience.
