LymphaTouch as a tool for the sports massage therapist
Sports massage therapist Toni Vuolukka says LymphaTouch lets him offer more varied manual treatment, which has improved his treatment results.
Toni Vuolukka runs his own company, HC Hieronta, which offers sports massage in Espoo, Finland. He has ten years of experience in the field and is a qualified massage therapist, personal trainer and bodybuilding coach.
His clients include professional athletes, goal-oriented exercisers and ordinary active people. Most come to Toni for neck, shoulder and lower back problems.
“The most common reasons clients come for a massage are everyday musculoskeletal issues. For athletes, I also provide recovery and pre-competition treatments,” Toni says.
LymphaTouch has proven to be an effective tool in Toni's hands. He sees its greatest added value in making his manual treatment more varied, which in turn has improved treatment outcomes.
“It's difficult to create lift or twist in the tissue by hand, but with LymphaTouch these techniques are easy thanks to the negative pressure the device creates. I used to do massages and finishing treatments entirely by hand, but LymphaTouch has made these treatments more efficient and the results have been better. Its pulsating negative pressure and mechanical vibration are also things manual massage can't offer, and they have helped my clients a lot. I also feel that LymphaTouch relaxes the mind as well as the body. I can clearly see from a client's demeanour that their stress levels have dropped after the treatment,” Toni says.
The adjustable negative pressure of LymphaTouch suits both sensitive clients and those who need a more intense treatment, which Toni says has been useful with athletes. With LymphaTouch Pro, the negative pressure can be adjusted up to 400 mmHg. Toni also highlights the device's precise pressure control and portability.
“The stepless pressure control is very handy. I can adjust the pressure precisely to each client's needs, which makes the treatments personalised. The device is also compact and easy to take along to fitness competitions. For example, I've used LymphaTouch to give bodybuilders full-body treatments to activate fluid circulation, and the results have been really good,” Toni explains.
