LymphaTouch can be used to facilite the training of a top athelete such as cyclist Pia Sundstedt. She competes in mountain bike racing in cross-country marathon distances varying from 80 to 120 kilometres. According to Pia, she has only positive feedback to give about the LymphaTouch treatment, and she has recommended it to her fellow athletes as well.

The World Physical Therapy Day is celebrated annually and falls on every September 8th. The day was first established in 1996, by the World Confederation for Physical Therapy – the profession’s global body representing over 300,000 physical therapists/physiotherapists in 101 countries. According to WCPT the day is an opportunity for physical therapists (also known in some countries as physiotherapists) from all over the world to raise awareness about the crucial role their profession plays in making and keeping people well, mobile and independent. Physical therapists work with people affected by a wide range of conditions and symptoms.

HLD's LymphaTouch method offers the therapist a way to improve in their work and treat their patients more effectively. As a LymphaTouch therapist put it: "I know that I am a good therapist but LymphaTouch makes me even better".

HLD will take part in the exhibion of the IV Nordic Congress of Lymphology held in Helsinki September 2-4, 2010. Visitors both from the Nordic countries as well as from other European countries are expected to the congress. The key focuses of the 2010 congress are the tissue changes typical to lymphoedema and their impact on lymphtherapy and skin care. In addition, recent findings from academic research in the field of Lymphology will be presented. The congress is organised by the two organisations that educate lymphtherapists in Finland Suomen Vodder-Lymfaterapeutit ry and Suomen Lymfahoito ry.

At the exhibition HLD will be presenting the innovative Finnish LymphaTouch treatment method that offers new opportunities in the treatment of different and even challenging patient cases. At the same time as the method is efficient, it also makes the workload of the therapist lighter and enables more qualitity in patient care. The LymphaTouch treatment method, created by the Finnish healthcare technology company HLD, is suitable as physiotherapeutic rehabilitation method for top athletics, too. The company has recently started cooperation with a young gymnast Timo Niemelä, who is also a member of the National Gymnastics Team of Finland. The athlete has gained positive experience on the LymphaTouch treatment method.

Out of many companies HLD was one of the most promising - and therefore chosen by the Finnish Health and Well-being Cluster to take part in the conference. The objective of the cluster is to support successful businesses and link research to commercialization. The Finnish companies privileged to participate in the WIC10 are 5-top growth companies working on either health care, biotech or pharmaceutical sectors. They get an excellent opportunity to present their business ideas in front of the world class investors, decision makers, and end-users. WIC is an independent organization, funded by private and public entities and backed by the European Commission. HLD Healthy Life Devices has now started a distributor partneship with Samcon,  operating in the Benelux countries. Samcon's partner companies have opened two LymphaTouch reference clinics - one in Belgium and one in the Netherlands. The reference clinic in Belgium is AZ Zusters van Barmhartigheid and in the Netherlands Handencentrum Utrecht.  HLD's specialist has given a product as well as treatment training to these clinics. The reference clinics will serve as LymphaTouch treatment clinics where patients will be treated with the LymphaTouch method. The clinics will also later on educate other therapist to the secrets of the LymphaTouch treatment method.

HLD's LymphaTouch treatment concept will be presented by our Swiss distributor Berro AG at the Physiocongress. The congress is held between May 7-8, 2010 in Basel at the exhibition center. Physiocongress is organised by the Swiss association for physiotherapists Physioswiss, which is an interest group for the 8000 physiotherapy professionals working as either independent entrepreneurs or employed by a physiotherapy practise in Switzerland. LymphaTouch - new innovation for the treatment of oedema, fibrosis and scars will be presented to physiothrerapist's at Berro AG's stand. Have a look at the stand if you are visiting the congress!
